At best it can look beautiful and elegant, but at worst it can be cheap, nasty and hideously scratchy.
Luckily the latest offerings from designers Pearl Lowe and Minna fall into the former category.
Exclusive to the website selling on trend eco fashion and accessories at your fingertips, ecobtq are both Pearl Lowe’s Violet and Iris dresses, as well as new designer Minna’s handmade creations.
Using vintage lace, the designers have both transformed old pieces of fabric into a new beautiful selection of dresses in their own style.
The inspiration for ex rock chick singer Pearl Lowe’s latest dresses come from the 1970’s, and all the wonderful icons like Lauren Hutton and Bianca Jagger.
She said: ‘I like the fact that the dresses have a party feel, which is great for the forthcoming Christmas party season. The dresses should be worn with platform shoes and shiny tights.’
Finnish designer Minna Hepburn, who is new to ecobtq has designed and handmade the Lara and Maria dresses, which can be worn in the day right through to the evening.
Minna said: ‘I used to wear a lot of vintage and as a result, a lot of the inspiration for my collection comes from antique markets. I love lace, and little details and this is reflected in my collection. ‘Most pieces have that one-off feel, as they are each decorated with things that I have found from antique markets. I also spent a lot of time finding the right materials for both of the dresses.’
Pearl Lowe’s lace dresses start from £695 and Minna’s start from £212.
